How can we help?
Spiritual Food: In Due Season is an offline Bible and Message app for iPhone and iPad. Most answers are below. If yours isn't, write to us.
Tell us your device (iPhone or iPad) and its iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened.
Common questions
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The Bible, the Message and every feature work offline. Nothing is sent to us.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account, no sign-in and nothing to buy.
What do the numbers beside each verse mean?
They count the places in the Message where that verse is named, read, quoted or spoken of. Tap the verse to see them, grouped by how the verse is used.
How do I keep a verse or a paragraph in a note?
Tap the verse or the sermon paragraph, then tap Add to a Note. Choose a note, or start a new one with just a title.
Where are my notes kept, and how do I move them to a new device?
Your notes, highlights and bookmarks are kept on your device only. To move them, make a backup file in the app, then open that file on the new device.
Why doesn't Ask write an answer on my device?
Ask finds the passages that answer your question on every iPhone and iPad. Writing a short answer from them uses Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone 15 Pro or later, an iPad with A17 Pro or M1 or later, or a Mac with M1 or later.
On one of those, turn Apple Intelligence on in Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri, and let it finish downloading. On other devices, such as an iPhone 13 or 14, Ask lists the passages without a written answer.
Why does voice search ask for the microphone?
Voice search is optional. What you say is turned into text on your device and is not sent anywhere. You can turn microphone access off in Settings at any time.
